LALFRESH S
LALLEMAND PLANT CARE
LALFRESH S is the first post-harvest biocontrol treatment for Monilia on the stone fruit market.
LALFRESH S is a biofungicide for post-harvest application against Monilia rot in stone fruits, based on a beneficial microorganism (Clonostachys rosea strain J1446).
The treatment limits the development of pathogenic fungi responsible for storage diseases in post-harvest stone fruits such as peaches, nectarines, plums, and cherries.
post-harvest rot in fruits is mainly caused by various virulent species of Monilia, leading to severe losses between harvest and consumption. Fruit contamination by these fungi primarily occurs in orchards. The severity of fungal pressure varies depending on the year (humidity, temperature) and the harvest date (certain varieties are more susceptible). Conventional treatments in orchards reduce fungal pressure but cannot fully eliminate post-harvest losses.
Trials conducted over six years in Europe and in the United States have shown that LALFRESH S significantly reduces fruit losses after harvest. The solution is applied at a rate of 2 to 3 L/t of spray mixture per fruit.
LALFRESH S extends shelf life without leaving pesticide residues or affecting the organoleptic qualities (colour, taste, odour) of the final product, addressing both the economic and environmental challenges of the sector.
On 15/05/2023, ANSES granted marketing authorisation (AMM No. 2230264) for the LALFRESH S solution.
An Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying system (Mafex system from Mantis) is recommended for uniform low-pressure application of the beneficial fungus Clonostachys rosea J1446 (patented application method for C. rosea J1446). The distribution of this equipment in France is managed by CHABAS SA.
