The Koppert Digital Assistant is a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool that goes beyond the superficial interaction of chatbots. It represents a revolutionary leap in agriculture, being the first generative AI solution in the biocontrol industry to integrate essential data from farmers’ crop management systems (e.g., climate, pest prevalence, treatment phases) with Koppert’s unique knowledge of biocontrol and agricultural practices.

The Koppert Digital Assistant delivers instant, personalised advice tailored to the specific data and context of farmers and consultants, addressing the challenges of integrated pest management (IPM) in agriculture. Designed to be versatile and flexible, the Koppert Digital Assistant offers expert guidance on a wide range of biocontrol topics, regardless of the pest, disease, crop, or market. Drawing from a vast and unique database within Koppert’s network, it provides technical and professional advice. Leveraging Koppert’s horticultural expertise, the assistant adapts its recommendations to the specific regional contexts of its users, ensuring compliance with local regulations and the availability of recommended products.

The Koppert Digital Assistant combines the ease of use of popular digital assistants like Siri or Alexa with sophisticated, data-driven analyses essential for effective horticulture. Implementation is straightforward and requires minimal setup. Despite its advanced infrastructure, the interface remains user-friendly and accessible, offering both voice and text input options to be as inclusive as possible for users worldwide. It is available in nearly all global languages.

As of 1 October 2024, the Koppert Digital Assistant is available to address questions related to the “Side Effect” application, which analyses the side effects of chemical products on beneficial organisms. By 2025, it will be integrated with all biological control data into the “Koppert One” platform—a customer portal accessible via web and mobile platforms.

Our initial goal is to begin deploying the assistant for protected crops in Europe and North America, leveraging our expertise. At the same time, we are exploring opportunities with open-field farming enterprises and smallholder farms, where scalable advice can significantly impact the transition to biocontrol.
