The Contactless safety system has been under development for several years within INFACO’s Research & Development department. It is a high-frequency (HF) electromagnetic field transmission and reception device, using miniature 3D antennas. Each antenna is embedded in a sensor that clips directly onto the F3020 secateurs, the latest model from the brand. A specific algorithm calculates the position of the two sensors in real time to define the protection zone. This technology is notable for its low energy consumption and reliability in demanding outdoor environments.

The system is simple to use: a wireless frequency transmitter with a 12-hour battery life is slipped into an ambidextrous mitt or a glove (available in mid-season or winter versions). The system is ready to use but also allows customisation of the protection zone based on the user’s hand size. This adaptability ensures that users can maintain their work habits while benefiting from enhanced safety.

When the hand opposite the secateurs comes too close, the blade opens instantly. The option features three adjustable safety zones, which can be set directly from the secateurs or via the INFACO mobile application (when paired with an optional connected control unit). The protection zone is carefully designed with an oval shape that follows the curves of the hand, ensuring users retain their natural working motions.
