Problad® is an innovative fungicide effective against powdery mildew and botrytis in vineyards and vegetable crops (tomato and strawberry), Monilia in fruit crops (stone fruits), and rice blast disease in rice cultivation.

Developed through European research (University of Lisbon), its mode of action is well-documented (published in PLoS ONE and Frontiers in Microbiology, among others) and unique among currently available products. Inside fungal cells, Problad® acts by chelating divalent cations, which are cofactors in enzyme production within the cells. The inactivation of these enzymes disrupts cellular metabolism, leading to fungal death. Moreover, it features a multi-site mode of action as it inhibits numerous metabolic pathways.

It benefits from extensive laboratory and field knowledge, gained through large-scale trial programmes conducted over many years across Europe, demonstrating both its performance and optimal usage conditions.

Problad®, designed and manufactured in Europe (Portugal), is one of the few fungicidal solutions derived from plants (aqueous extract of germinated seeds of Lupinus albus). It has highly favourable toxicological and ecotoxicological characteristics: as a biocontrol product, it is non-classified, suitable for organic farming, has a short re-entry interval and pre-harvest interval, and is exempt from MRLs (Maximum Residue Levels). Additionally, it is highly selective for crops.
