This series of 4 educational videos introduces untrained and non-French-speaking workers to the fundamentals of virtuous pruning that respects sap flow. These video capsules are available with subtitles in six languages: French, Spanish, English, Bulgarian, Romanian, and Arabic.

The originality of this training material lies first in its target audience: beginner and foreign pruners, a group rarely addressed by existing resources on pruning. Then, its format: the capsules are animated videos, making the content more accessible and easier to understand. They are short (1 minute 30 seconds), multilingual, and available on YouTube.

The goal is to meet the demand of winegrowers and service providers for a tool to transfer best practices in non-destructive pruning, helping them train and support foreign seasonal workers. Indeed, vineyards struggle to recruit staff for pruning and increasingly rely on untrained, non-French-speaking workers.

These capsules will be shared by employer groups and other organisations involved in recruiting vineyard seasonal workers—stakeholders rarely included in the dissemination of technical information.

On YouTube, they will be accompanied by three additional capsules produced by the MSA, focusing on workplace comfort and pruner safety.
